About Me
I'm Alex Amelia Pine, you can call me either Alex or Amelia/Amy. I'm a proud trans woman (she/it), polyamorous lesbian, as well as a notorious gamer, writer, and tea-drinker!I've always been a storyteller at heart, whether that's in the form of writing/drawing comics, narrative fiction, or video game development. I love building worlds, writing characters, and setting off events that make people think and feel in new and familiar ways. I'm almost entirely self-taught in this sense, writing purely for the love of the craft, and slowly honing my skills over the years to try and be the best storyteller I can be. My writing is influence by many factors, including things that interest me and things that affect my day-to-day life. Being a trans woman and a lesbian is an integral experience to me as a person, and so my queerness shines through if everything I make. I believe in love, acceptance, support, and unity, and I write with the hope that those values can someday leave the page and enter the world through someone I helped impact with my art.
The enshittification of the Internet showed me that I needed somewhere to house my works and online presence, just in case social media ever completely falls out from under me. To that end, here I am, with this work-in-progress, fixer-upper of a personal site. My hope for this site is that it will be a place to house all of my projects in progress, my various thoughts in the form of articles, blog posts, etc. as well as finished work and places you can support me therein.
At the moment, my focus is on securing my housing/living situation, and sorting out my finances to hopefully continue my higher education. Regardless of that outcome, my main project focus is on writing, comics, and game development. I'm currently drafting a few documents for one-shots and ongoing stories which could be published on a Patreon apge (coming soon), with free sample works available here, in addition to smaller works such as poetry. My fiction tends to skip around genre-wise, but keeps a consistent theme of prose storytelling and a focus on characters and emotion, as well as growth and change through time and experience. I've always been particularly fond of the fantasy genre, so I have many stories churning in a world of my own, but I also have lots of fiction with other settings and focuses that I hope to unveil soon!
Also to be featured on Patreon is comics done by yours truly, featuring original characters and slice-of-life story settings, mostly exploring themes of life, relationships, queerness, etc. I hope to host some free pages of the ongoing comics, as well as small four-panel strips on this site, while the Patreon will be the primary way to experience bonus content, such as reference pages, sketchs and doodles, as well as early access to new content before they get posted to any socials, or somewhere like itch.io (coming soon) for purchase.
Last but certainly not least is my game development endevours. Gaming has been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember, and has had a profound impact on me as a person. There's never been a time where I haven't been thinking about the idea of what I would do if I made a game, and that has only grown more true over recent years. My progress is incredibly slow, as I'm learning everything from scratch, but I'm using RPG Maker VX Ace as a starting engine, as well as Aseprite as a starting art program, and various programs to experiment with sound/music. Again, progress is slow, and everything is new to me. However, when I eventually reach a point where one specific idea crystalizes into a large project for me to pursue, I intend to keep a devlog on this site under the Gamer tab above. I may also make some blog posts regarding things I'm learning or experimenting with, as well as ideas I'm toying around with.
