This Is The Something About Tea
I happen to like tea. I like tea a lot. I've never been able to do coffee, but tea fills that niche for me, and is just generally a better drinking experience than coffee. There's so many blends, drinks you can mix, etc.
I'm not really sure what this section is, it's mostly a placeholder so that my site's navbar is consistent with my personal moniker: "Gamer, Writer, Tea-drinker". I guess I can also use this as a catch-all dump for all the web badges I use? Also, have a nav button for my blog, why not!
Okay fine, I can probably talk about tea too, right? Let's see, what could I talk about...
Um, the other day I ran out of sugar so I tried using maple syrup to sweeten my tea. I steeped a cup of chai, and poured in about two spoonfuls of syrup, stirred thoroughly. It was really good, not too sweet, just a hint of the maple flavor. If I let it sit too long, it would form a weird film over the top of the tea and the sides of the mug, but a few dabs of the tea bag and it would mix back in. I tried it a few days later with an Earl Grey and it was pretty good with that too. Not gonna be an everyday kind of sweetener, but it's got a good flavor and comes in clutch if I need it!
In terms of blends, my go-tos are chai, English Breakfast, and Earl Grey. If I'm feeling sick, either seasonal allergies or legitimate illness, I make myself a green tea sweetened with honey. I usually just sweeten with sugar, about two spoonfuls. If there's whole milk in the fridge, I'll pour a bit of that in, just kinda eyeballing it until the tea is a nice light brown color. If it's not whole milk though, I don't bother, it doesn't taste right and I usually don't like it very much. A little sugar goes a long way though, so that's usually all I need, which is good because we don't have whole milk around very often ahaha!
I try to limit myself to one cup a day usually, and I try to avoid the higher-caffeine content teas in the evening. I'm not all that reliant on caffeine, though love a warm drink, especially in the mornings, so that tends to be how I do it. Sometimes I go a day or two without making any tea, sometimes it's a week or a month, and then sometimes I make two cups a day for three days lol
