I think Pokémon is way more fun and interesting when you don’t use Legendary Pokémon. I’m talking for playthroughs, multiplayer, competitive, anything. Legendaries are fascinating from a lore perspective, catching them is usually an epic battle down to the wire, but actually using them is just boring because it’s no balanced against the rest of the dex. In competitive, it means that most teams are at least half Legendaries (in non-restricted formats) and in playthroughs it’s just vastly more powerful that anything the in-game trainers use. I always find playthroughs more interesting to teambuild without them, and competitive play more interesting when you have to find the Pokémon throughout the rest of the Pokédex that do the best in a competitive format.
