The darkness ever deepens. As you stumble your way through the shadows of the earth and stone, you come across a strange pair of holes, opposite each other along the bottom of the two walls. As you stop and look at them in confusion, a sound echoes out from somewhere deeper. After a moment, a small nose pokes out from the hole on your left. A rabbit tenatively peaks out, her eyes wide as she checks her surroundings in the dark, her nose twitching and her ears alert. Eventually she hops one, then again, slowly exiting the burrow, until she is in the middle of the hallway. She sits for a moment, and another rabbit joins her. Then another, then another, all in a line. The rabbit at the lead then hops ahead, the others all following in line. They exit the hole on the left, and slowly one by one file into the hole on the right. 4 rabbits, 5 rabbits, 6 rabbits, many small rabbits all in a row. One by one they hop across, nervously and alert, until all the pass through the hall. The last one stops in the middle and looks up at you with her nervous eyes, before hopping along the catch up with the others.
You aren't entirely sure what to make of the burrows and the rabbits, but you do know that there is strength in numbers. Even if they are alert, they will know peace with each other. They have some fear in their eyes, but they will be safe together. They will never be cold, as they share their warmth. The rabbits will be fine, even in the depths of the labyrinth.
Your resolve is restored. You continue on your journey, allowing the rabbit burrows the fade behind you.
