The darkness ever deepens. As you stumble your way through the shadows of the earth and stone, a burning sensation swells within you. It is a hot, searing pain of the heart, such as you have never felt before. Like love and rage and desire all flame and swell together, a chimera of emotion that stuns you to silent agony. It has been happening for quite some time now. Ever since meeting the wizard, it has been worse.
At times the pain is unbearable, dropping you to your knees as you grapple with the pain of feeling. You walk on shaky legs, slipping now and again on the stone flooring, slowly but surely descending further into the earth and stone. At others, it seems to recede, allowing a moment's respite before flaring forth once more. The cycle drains you, but allows you to continue all the same.
You wonder what harm this strange feeling may bring. It has yet to incapacitate you, but you fear what may happen should you face another trial. Since entering the labyrinth, you have seen many things, but ever since plunging into the well, your strength is gone. Ever since sacrificing everything to the wizard's ritual, you have little else to carry you onward. Should another challenge block your path, you fear the outcome.
Nevertheless, you continue down the passage, your resolve unwavering in the face of adversity.
